My Inspiration
You want me to go where? When do you want me there?
I am a life-long traveler who will go miles out of my way to eat at a recommended restaurant or visit an obscure cultural site. I have vast experience traveling domestically and overseas for both work and pleasure thanks to my long career in international development. When I'm at home, I eagerly seek out ethnic restaurants, museum exhibitions, and foreign books, films, and television shows.
I was inspired to write my book, Welcome Back to Abuja Once Again: How I Became a Citizen of the World, to share my passion for meeting people in the US and around the globe and to encourage others who may be hesitant to open up to new adventures. Through the stories in my book, I show the reader how travel reveals our common humanity and enriches our lives.
My Community
My experiences with people I've met on my travels, both in the US and overseas, have impacted me and helped to shape me. I am connected to a global community through my travels, my work, and now my writing. I am appreciative and inspired as I see how others live, love, and laugh! My life is enriched and I have grown by opening myself up to other people.
I appreciate all of the support I have garnered through my international development work and now my writing career. Your faith in me is both humbling and inspiring.
